How Cultures Combine Through Music
The band pictured above is the very well known, English-Irish pop boy band, One Direction. They formed in 2010 when they were competing on the British X Factor. Simon Cowell told them they had no chance as solo artists, but together they could do wonders. This was true. In 2011, the group signed with Columbia Records in North America. Their single "What Makes You Beautiful" dropped here in the United States in 2012.
This group is 5 Seconds of Summer, an Australian pop rock/pop punk band. They formed in 2011 and went international when a member of One Direction discovered them on YouTube and asked the band to join their Take Me Home tour.
These two bands are from three different countries, but they bring cultures all around the world together with their songs. They are influencing the integration of contrasting lifestyles. They aren't the only famous celebrities in the music industry impacting lives all over the world.

Conformity
Conformity. A behavior in accordance with socially accepted conventions or standards. This is one example of girls in this very school. High waisted pants are a fad right now. I will admit to having a pair myself. Influential stars such as Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts and Arianna Grande wear clothes and broadcast their style to the world. On lookers see and then copy them. You may not agree with this and say you wear them because they lengthen you or make you look slimmer, but would you have tried them on if someone famous had never made you aware of their existence? Volleyball players wear temporary tattoos of their sponsors when they play a game. This is so the viewers will see the product name and then think if it’s good enough for a professional athlete, it would be good for me. Or they will recognize the name on the shelves of a store and think they should give it a try since it is a well-known product. Clothing works the same exact way.
